Families are invited to take part in the 2008 Summer Reading Program at all Pamunkey Regional branch libraries. Children can join "Catch the Reading Bug" from signups beginning on Saturday June 7 to the program end date of Saturday August 16. Our teen program is "Metamorphosis." Adults may join "@ the Library," now in its ninth year. Prizes will be awarded when participants reach their reading goals. Many exciting, free programs for school-aged children will be taking place at the library, including the Summer Reading Program Kickoff with J.B. Rattles (week of June 23), Bugging with Virginia Living Museum (week of July 7), Curt Strutz, the Bassmeister in "Fishing for Laughs" Comedy Show (week of July 14), Rob Westcott’s "Get a Clue" magic show (week of July 21), Flumpa & Friends LIVE – Science Rocks Show (week of July 28).
For more information about the Summer Reading Program, please call or visit your local branch library.
This year’s children’s and teen’s themes are sponsored by the Library of Virginia with artwork by illustrators, Harry Bliss and Jan Duursema.
