Tai Chi

Meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m. (Aug. 29, Sept. 12, 19, & 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21, & 28, and Dec. 5, 12, & 19)

If you've never tried Tai Chi, now's your chance. Described as "meditation in motion" Tai Chi can be a gentle way to fight the stress of everyday living and may have a number of health benefits. Try it and see!

 

Knitting & Crochet Club

First and third Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. - noon

Are you a knitter or crocheter looking to expand your fiber-related circle and have a bit of fun?  Grab your needles, yarn, and patterns for fun conversation and  stitching.

Mechanicsville Library Book Club

Meets the third Wednesday of every month at 11:00 a.m. (no meeting in August 2016)

 

Adult Coloring Club

First and third Wednesday of the month, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.

Come color with us! Calm your mind, promote wellness, and have fun! We will supply some items, but you can also bring your own to share.

 

Senior Storytime

Held on the fourth Friday of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Relax and enjoy light and lively tales at this Storytime for adults.

Discover Our National & State Parks!

Monday, August 15, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Ages 8 & up. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of America's National Parks and the 80th anniversary of Virginia's State Parks. Learn from two park rangers about the library's nature backpacks, how to prevent insect bites, and the ways wildlife help us. Dissect a real owl pellet (What's an owl pellet? Come find out!). Sign ups required.

 

Computer Basics Class

Thursday, August 18, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Covers beginning computer skills like finding out about the parts of a computer, learning how to use a mouse, beginning to explore & search the Internet, and how to create and save documents with Microsoft Word 2010. Call 804-746-9615 or visit the library to sign up for this class.

 

Genealogy Class

Learn how to search for  information to build your family tree using Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest. (Basic computer experience is preferred.) You must call 804-746-9615 or visit the library to sign up for this class.

 

Teen Tuesday: The Donut Decision

Tuesday, September 6, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Ages 11-18. Cast your vote for your favorite donut and help determine who has the best donuts in town.  Goofy games provided at no extra charge!
