Tai Chi

Meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m. (June 6 & 13, July 18 & 25, Aug. 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29)

If you've never tried Tai Chi, now's your chance. Described as "meditation in motion" Tai Chi can be a gentle way to fight the stress of everyday living and may have a number of health benefits. Try it and see!

 

Knitting & Crochet Club

First and third Tuesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. - noon

Are you a knitter or crocheter looking to expand your fiber-related circle and have a bit of fun?  Grab your needles, yarn, and patterns for fun conversation and  stitching.

Mechanicsville Library Book Club

Meets the third Wednesday of every month at 11:00 a.m.

 

Adult Coloring Club

First and third Wednesday of the month, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.

Come color with us! Calm your mind, promote wellness, and have fun! We will supply some items, but you can also bring your own to share.

 

Senior Storytime

Held on the fourth Friday of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Relax and enjoy light and lively tales at this Storytime for adults.

Ages 3-10.  Who could ask for more? Roll, flatten, squeeze, and sculpt to your heart's delight and leave the mess at the library door.

 

Death by Chocolate 2: Electric Boogaloo

Thursday, June 30, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Ages 11-18. Calling all chocoholics!  Play new chocolate games and tantalize your taste buds with new chocolate flavors. Call the library to sign up.

 

Zoo Pro Adventures

Walk on the wild side with Zoo Pro Adventures! Learn about interesting animals, what makes them special, and where they live. Meet and greet lots of furry and scaly friends.

Bring the whole family for a great movie on the big screen at the library.

Jesse Joyner, Juggler

Friday, July 8, 11:00 a.m.

Everyone will enjoy Jesse's highly skilled performance full of wonderful surprises and humor. He juggles! He rides a unicycle! He juggles while riding a unicycle! It's a balancing act you have to see to believe.

 

"Sun & Fun!" Teen Art Program

Monday, July 11, 6:30 -7:30 p.m.

Ages 11-18. Upcycle your old t-shirts into a beach bag or bathing suit cover up (requires an oversized t-shirt). No sewing required. Sign-ups requested.

 

"Drive-in" Movie for Kids

Saturday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. - noon

Ages 4-10. Decorate a "car" made out of boxes and then "park" it at our drive-in for a movie.  Sign-ups requested.

The Virginia Living Museum's kid-friendly show returns to the library with up close and personal experiences with the animals of Virginia.
