Save your memories today!

Do you have photos, family documents, slides or 35mm negatives you would like to digitize and share? Save your family mementos with our Scanning Station. You can use color restoration, dust removal, and other digital tools to improve your scans.

Our Photo and Negative Scanning Stations offer resources to help you create, save, and learn while experimenting with new technology. Our scanners are available at all ten of our branch locations.

When preparing to work at one of our Stations, please keep these things in mind:
  • Bring the source materials you want to work on. For example, this could be photos, negatives, or slides to scan.
  • Have a way to take your files home when you're done. Files saved to public computers are deleted daily. Bring a USB drive (also known as a flash or thumb drive), an external hard drive, or set up a cloud storage account to save your work. To save time, have these things ready before you visit the library.
  • Some files can be very large based on size or resolution. Leave plenty of time to export and save your projects until you get used to how long your project takes. Be sure your drive has plenty of free space to hold your projects.

Basic information about the scanners can be provided by library staff. To reserve time at either station, ask a staff member at the circulation desk or you can sign up online.
